Wotton Kearney has been recognised as one of the fastest-growing law firms in Australia in Australasian Lawyer’s 2024 Fast Firms report. This marks the firm’s second year being named as a Fast Firm following another year of impressive growth.
The independent report identifies Australian law firms experiencing standout growth in terms of revenue, partnership headcount, general headcount and progress in expansion.
Australasian Lawyer said this year’s fastest-growing law firms have outperformed the sector — despite market challenges and strong competition for talent — and confirmed their resilience and cemented their strong positions in the Australian legal market.
Over the past two years, Wotton Kearney has achieved a number of significant growth milestones. This year alone, the firm introduced an aviation practice led by partner James Cooper in April, followed by the launch of the first fully private AI solution developed specifically for the Australian legal industry in May. In June, WK opened its first office in Asia with a team of seven, announced the promotion of 33 lawyers, including four partners, and appointed Laura Gavan to head up Wotton Kearney’s employment law offering in Melbourne. In July, Wotton Kearney expanded its construction practice with the hire of partner Sarah Metcalfe and, most recently, strengthened its cyber and technology advisory practice with the hire of special counsel Rakhee Dullabh.
Founded in 2002, Wotton Kearney has grown from two partners to 86 partners and over 500 lawyers across offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Singapore.
