Leading insurance and risk law firm Wotton Kearney has announced the promotion of 33 lawyers across the firm, effective 1 July 2024. This includes four new partners, nine special counsel, 10 senior associates and 10 associates across its offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Christchurch and Wellington.
The firm’s mid-year promotions are reflective of Wotton Kearney’s ongoing growth, people-first culture, and investment in nurturing talent, and span a number of the firm’s traditional and growing practice areas – General Liability, Property, Energy + Infrastructure, Commercial Litigation, Pro Bono, Cyber, and Financial Lines.
W+K’s new partners are:
- Morgan Campbell – General Liability, Sydney. Morgan has a wealth of experience in a broad range of insurance claims, acting for leading domestic and international insurers, underwriting agencies, self-insured organisations and government agencies. He specialises in complex large loss personal injury claims, which often involve an intertwined recovery component.
- James Cooper – Property, Energy + Infrastructure, Melbourne. James joined Wotton Kearney early in 2024 to lead the firm’s Aviation practice. James specialises in aviation, maritime and energy law, and brings a wealth of international sector knowledge and experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters.
- Stuart Moore – General Liability, Melbourne. Stuart works across Wotton Kearney’s General Liability, Property & Energy and Subrogation & Recoveries practice groups. He has developed a specialisation in product liability and property damage claims, both on the casualty (liability defence and subrogated recoveries) and first-party property (coverage) side.
- Marcus Saw – Financial Lines, Sydney. Marcus specialises in handling construction-related claims Australia-wide for local and international insurers and their insureds as both coverage and defence counsel. In June, Melbourne workplace partner Laura Gavan joined the firm, and just last week Wotton Kearney announced the opening of its first office in Asia with a team of seven.
