We are excited to announce the expansion of our marine and transport capability across Asia Pacific through the integration of Oceanlaw – a leading specialist maritime and fisheries practice in New Zealand.
Effective 1 August, this development will see WK establish its fifth New Zealand office in the heart of Nelson, and our 14th across Asia Pacific, further strengthening our presence and enhancing our ability to support clients across the region.
The Oceanlaw team brings deep experience in law relating to maritime, fisheries, aquaculture and the Māori sector. Partners Hamish Fletcher and Karyn van Wijngaarden will join WK alongside consultants Justine Inns and Mike Sullivan, and lawyers Hayley Campbell and Daniel Jackson.
The addition of this highly regarded team significantly strengthens WK’s marine offering, complementing the expertise of Caroline Laband, Neil Beadle and our broader APAC Transport, Trade & Logistics team – led by Naraya Lamart and including marine Partners Richard Arrage, Aisha Lala and Justin Khouri, while also expanding our reach and capability across New Zealand’s South Island.
Bringing together two highly regarded firms provides clients access to a leading marine practice for insurers, brokers, and businesses in the maritime and fisheries industry, supported by an expanded APAC footprint.
This milestone highlights WK’s growing footprint in the South Island and New Zealand, and underscores our commitment to investing in specialist capability to support our clients.
