Madison is an experienced litigator and advises on a variety of actions relating to personal injury claims. She has particular expertise in public and product liability, workplace accidents, and statutory recovery actions.

Madison advises major insurers, and insured clients, in a broad range of industries on complex legal issues and significant quantum cases. She has acted on behalf of various builders, occupiers, contractors, large scale retailers, mining companies and manufacturers, regularly in multi-party disputes. She is committed to working with clients to strategise effective outcomes that meet her client’s commercial considerations.

Madison also advises on matters relating to indemnity, coverage and double insurance issues.

  • Acting for a variety of insured entities in response to personal injury and public liability claims on behalf of occupiers including shopping centres, owners corporations, retailers and those in the construction, telecommunications, healthcare and manufacturing industries. 
  • Defending common law claims brought by injured workers as well as related recovery proceedings issued by the Victorian WorkCover Authority.
  • Defending insured entities in claims brought under the Australian Consumer Law. 
  • Appearing on behalf of clients at mediation and advising on strategy with respect to settlement negotiations.  
  • Representing a manufacturer in a statutory recovery claim in which the VWA withdrew the claim entirely on a ‘bear own costs’ basis.
