Charlene is a Special Counsel in Wotton Kearney’s Singapore office. She practises commercial litigation and international arbitration, with a focus on shipping, logistics and international trade matters.

Charlene acts for clients across the marine, trade and insurance sectors, including oil traders and shippers, Protection and Indemnity Clubs, shipowners, ship agents, ship brokers and freight forwarders. Her work spans LNG and commodity sale and purchase contracts, contracts of affreightment, charter parties, marine insurance policies, insolvency and restructuring proceedings, and other complex cross-border commercial disputes.

She has represented clients in international arbitrations conducted under the ICC, SIAC, SCMA, LCIA and LMAA Rules, as well as ad hoc arbitration, mediation, and admiralty and civil commercial proceedings before the Singapore Courts. Charlene is dual-qualified in Singapore and England and Wales.

  • Assisted in a four-day arbitration hearing under SCMA Rules, successfully obtaining an arbitration award against charterers in a time charter party dispute involving non-payment of charter hire.
