Lucille has over 20 years’ experience in commercial insurance, representing Australian and London-based clients in a wide range of contentious work, primarily in the areas of public liability, personal injury, professional indemnity and medical malpractice.
She has represented clients in the South Australian Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts, the Federal Court, the Civil and Administrative Tribunal and the Employment Tribunal. Lucille has also instructed counsel and senior counsel in two Full Supreme Court appeals and several District Court trials.
In her most recent role as Deputy Director of Law Claims at the Law Society of South Australia, Lucille managed a portfolio of claims against legal practitioners pursuant to the SA Legal Practitioners Professional Indemnity Scheme, liaising with brokers and underwriters involved with the scheme.
Lucille has been recognised in Doyle’s Guide as a Leading Public & Product Liability Lawyer (Defendant) in SA (2020, 2021, 2022 and 2024 Editions) and as a Recommended Medical Negligence & Malpractice Lawyer (Defendant) in SA (2023 Edition).

- Providing complex and detailed advice to Underwriters on indemnity, including policy construction, liability, quantum, reserves and claim strategy.
- Acting for Australian and international insurers and claims management agencies and third-party administrators for London based Underwriters.
- Assisting insureds to manage their own claims within deductible levels and working with brokers to assist their clients in responding to claims and managing risk.
- Defending various public liability claims (personal injury and property) against a range of insured businesses involving, for example, farm practices, cleaning contractors, property managers, manufacturing, building and construction and general occupier liability.
- Representing medical and allied health practitioners (including GPs, specialists, surgeons, psychologists, physiotherapists, naturopaths and massage therapists) in professional indemnity claims and disciplinary proceedings.
- Advising and representing legal practitioners in professional indemnity claims.
- Responding to AHPRA notifications on behalf of medical and allied health practitioners, including drafting submissions for consideration by various Boards and devising risk management programmes comprising supervision and/or further education.
