Jonathan has extensive experience across the construction, property, energy and infrastructure insurance sectors, having worked on a variety of disputes across Australia and the United Kingdom.

Jonathan’s practice to date involves both litigated and non-litigated contentious matters, where he represents and advises developers, contractors and consultants in relation to claims made against them for breach of contract and in negligence.

He also works closely with the Insurers of building professionals to help them navigate coverage and liability issues which come with first-party claims.

  • Acted for developers and sub-consultants in a number of litigated claims in the High Court of the United Kingdom.
  • Advised Insurers on first party claims, both at a pre-action and litigate level.
  • Acted for sub-consultants and contractors across NSW and Victorian Courts & Tribunals (including VCAT, the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal) in respect of professional negligence and breach of contract claims.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of a variety of current coverage claims and construction based disputes, including the mentoring / supervision of junior lawyers, liaison with experts and counsel, and frequent communications with clients (insured and Insurer).
