Wotton Kearney, Australasia’s leading insurance and risk law firm, has been shortlisted in the Chambers Asia-Pacific diversity and inclusion awards, which celebrate the hard work and achievements of organisations and individuals who are furthering the advancement of diversity, inclusion, and pro bono across the region.

Firms were judged on five main criteria: breadth, commitment, impact, advancement and originality.

In 2023, Wotton Kearney established eight Employee Networks with members from across all levels and functions of the firm, to advocate for and implement an inclusive work environment. Each Employee Network has its own purpose and mission statement, as well as tangible deliverables. With their strong member base, the networks drive initiatives that matter most to our people including gender pronouns in email signatures, a commitment to equitable briefing, a youth mentoring program, and advancing our Reconciliation Action Plan.

Heidi Anderson, Pro Bono Partner, said:

“Being shortlisted in the Chambers Asia-Pacific Diversity & Inclusion Awards is a testament to the significant investment the firm has made towards D&I initiatives over the past five years. The success of Wotton Kearney’s employee networks has been the firm’s grassroot approach driven by people across the business who are truly passionate about creating a more inclusive work environment.

“We are already seeing the positive impacts of investing in creating an inclusive firm for all – not just on our people, but also our broader network of clients, suppliers, barristers, and the communities we support through our responsible business practices.”

Founded in 2002, Wotton Kearney has grown from two partners to 79 partners and over 450 lawyers across offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. The firm will be opening its first office in Singapore in June 2024.
