Stacey acts for liability insurers and their clients on a range of insurance issues. She relocated to New Zealand from the UK in February 2023, having worked for the London insurance market for 5 years.
Advising on both defence and coverage work, Stacey has a particular expertise in defending negligence claims against legal professionals pursuant to Professional Indemnity policies. She also defends claims against company officers and directors and provides PI and D&O indemnity advice.
In 2020, Stacey completed a secondment at global insurer AIG. Her caseload comprised UK and international claims against a variety of professions, including solicitors, company directors and officers, FI (financial institutions) professionals, pension trustees & administrators and construction professionals. She primarily dealt with claims in a coverage context, from which she gained valuable experience in interpreting policy terms and conditions and determining policy coverage.
This, put with her understanding of the risks to insurers and how they operate, enables her to provide comprehensive and pragmatic advice to insurers and their clients, minimise potentially adverse impacts on their business and preserve important relationships. Clients have praised Stacey’s down-to-earth and approachable nature and her ability to explain complicated issues in a clear and concise manner.
