Natalie is a skilled insurance litigator who represents large commercial insurers and corporations in general liability matters involving complex personal injury. She has a deep understanding of the legal issues and practical implications of claims across a diverse range of sectors, including healthcare, energy and mining, government, and sports, leisure and entertainment.
Natalie has a particular interest in healthcare claims, having previously worked as a Practice Manager and Senior Claims Manager at Australia’s largest medical defence organisation. She has extensive experience supporting underwriters and acting for medical practitioners, healthcare professionals and corporate medical entities in multi-party personal injury matters, regulatory inquiries and investigations, coronial inquests, commissions of inquiry, and employment practices claims.
Natalie is highly regarded by her clients for her pragmatic, service-focused and personable approach to claims. Natalie has conducted matters in all Queensland Courts as well as the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
A regular publisher and speaker, Natalie is recognised by clients and colleagues for her legal and commercial skills. - Acting for the insurer of a national hotel chain in defending a $1.5 million claim for personal injuries by a security guard for significant physical and psychiatric injuries sustained after a physical altercation with a patron at the insured’s venue.
Coronials, Inquiries and Prosecutions
- Representing high-profile government officials and medical professionals in the Barrett Adolescent Centre Commission of Inquiry before the Honourable Margaret Wilson QC.
- Acting for a national commercial insurer in a suite of coronial inquests examining the circumstances of numerous deaths arising in offshore detention centres.
Regulatory Inquiry and Investigation
- Acting on instruction from Australia’s largest medical defence organisations, representing a wide array of healthcare professionals in regulatory matters arising from patient complaints, impairment matters, and registration issues involving the Australian Health Practitioner Agency and the Office of the Health Ombudsman.
- Acting for doctors and medical practices in investigations by Medicare concerning their provision of medical services, including representation of doctors in hearings before the Medicare Professional Services Review Panel.

- Representing several healthcare professionals on instruction from a national insurer in a complex multi-party personal injury claim seeking over $3 million in damages and over $500,000 in legal costs arising from an alleged failure to diagnose and treat terminal cancer.
- Acting for a medical practice on instruction from a national insurer in the defence of a claim against its directors and employees alleging improper and unsafe storage of vaccinations, which allegedly resulted in significant injury to a minor.
Employment Practices Liability
- Acting on instruction from a national insurer, representing a public service officer in pursuit of an unfair dismissal claim where the officer was terminated from employment for alleged misappropriation of property and professional misconduct in the workplace.
