Jessica specialises in civil litigation with a focus on historical institutional abuse claims and public liability claims. Her experience has involved providing advice and assistance in the defence of matters brought against various government agencies. She appreciates the importance of meeting client expectations diligently and is committed to managing and defending claims, including sensitive, high quantum claims, with empathy. She is both results-driven as well as strategic and compassionate in her work.

Jessica is also involved in Wotton Kearney’s Community Footprint program, in particular in refugee rights and migration justice. She is a ‘Pro Bono Champion’ for Sydney’s General Liability team, which involves assisting with resourcing and encouraging engagement in the Community Footprint program.

Jessica also sits on the Board of Wotton Kearney’s Young Professionals employee resource group, which advocates for young professionals in the firm. Part of this role has included being an instrumental part in establishing and running the first firm-wide mentoring program.

Prior to joining Wotton Kearney, Jessica gained significant experience acting for plaintiffs in institutional abuse claims against state governments, religious institutions and non-government organisations in various Australian jurisdictions.

  • Advising on the evolving area of setting aside settlement agreements in historical child sexual abuse claims.
  • Performing document reviews, drafting pleadings, preparing and responding to subpoenas for production, preparing Counsel briefs, taking witness statements, and drafting advices.
  • Acting on behalf of plaintiffs in the Supreme Court of NSW in claims against state government, religious institutions and non-government organisations.
