Jeanine is an experienced litigator with an expertise in insurance claims involving public liability, historical abuse, and compulsory third party insurance across ACT and NSW.
Jeanine works with national commercial and government insurers and provides advice on the defence of claims, options for dispute resolution, and strategies for litigation across both litigated and non-litigated claims. She advises on indemnity, liability and procedural issues, and provides assessments of quantum, contribution and costs. She frequently appears before the NSW Personal Injury Commission, ACT Magistrates Court and ACT Supreme Court.
- Working on contamination class actions filed in the Federal Court of Australia whilst seconded to the Commonwealth.
- Handling non-litigated contamination-related claims made directly to the Commonwealth.
- Successfully defending negligence claims against insured parties in the NSW District Court, ACT Magistrates Court and ACT Supreme Court.
- Acting for insurers and underwriters in personal injury claims in the District and Supreme Courts of NSW, and ACT Magistrates and Supreme Courts, including nervous shock claims, traumatic brain injury claims and compensation to relatives claims.
