James specialises in public liability, property and intentional tort litigation, as well as accident and health liability and recoveries, acting for and advising insurers, brokers, corporate insureds and self-insureds. James is developing a greater understanding of the insurance industry through his exposure to defendant legal actions in a varied factual context.
Prior to joining Wotton Kearney, James completed summer internships at legal providers and a Lloyd’s syndicate in the United Kingdom. James assisted with responding to the practical implications of changes to the European Union directives on products and assisted brokers with underwriting modelling and writing of risk.
- Advising and acting for insurers on accident and health claims involving indemnity, coverage and recoveries.
- Advising and acting for occupiers and owners in respect of personal injury claims.
- Advising and acting for an insurer in the matter of Trajkovski v Commonwealth Insurance Ltd (No. 2) [2020] NSWDC 694, a litigated coverage and indemnity dispute with an insured involving complex allegations of fraud under s 56(1) and s 60(1)(e) of the Insurance Contracts Act 1984 (Cth).
