Isaac is a Senior Associate with deep expertise in health law, personal injury, and professional indemnity litigation.

He advises public and private healthcare providers, medical practitioners, and insurers on a wide range of legal issues, including medical negligence, disciplinary proceedings, coronial inquests, and health privacy compliance. Isaac’s health law practice spans Queensland and Tasmania, supported by a nine-month secondment with Australia’s largest private hospital provider.

His experience includes defending complex medical negligence claims, managing practitioner accreditation disputes, and advising on regulatory complaints and policy reform. Isaac represents clients across industries including local government, construction, and childcare, in public liability and workers compensation matters. He is known for his pragmatic, resolution-focused approach, while being fully equipped to defend claims through litigation when necessary.

Isaac also advises on professional indemnity claims in the healthcare and legal sectors, offering strategic guidance on coverage, liability, and quantum in high-value and sensitive disputes.

Committed to delivering tailored, commercially sound advice, Isaac helps clients manage legal risk and achieve optimal outcomes in both contentious and advisory matters. Isaac has a longstanding relationship with LawRight, providing pro bono advice and assistance through the Self Representation Service and provides support to the LGBTI Legal Service in Queensland.

Healthcare Professional Liability

  • Acting for various clients (public hospitals and a Gynaecologist) in relation to pelvic mesh litigation matters involving cross-vesting issues, limitation period hearings and complex factual scenarios including allegations of both a failure to warn and procedural negligence.
  • Acting for a neurosurgeon in a delayed diagnosis and failure to warn litigated claim with a self-represented litigant.

Coronials, Inquiries and Prosecutions

  • Acting for private hospitals and medical practitioners in coronial investigations, including drafting statements and providing advice on risk minimisation and management strategies.
  • Advising a government health department in responding to statutory notices issued by a Commission of Inquiry, including the consideration of voluminous technical material and determining production.

Government

  • Advising on public health matters and supporting a government health department respond to COVID-19, including in relation to COVD-19 outbreaks and compliance with legislative and regulatory frameworks.
  • Advising a government health department on the drafting and introduction of health legislation, including advising on legislative requirements for subordinate instruments, drafting explanatory materials and supporting the department through the stakeholder consultation process.

Employment

  • Acting for a medical practitioner in relation to a workplace investigation commenced by their employer involving allegations of sexual harassment and breaches of privacy and confidentiality.
  • Acting for a local government council in relation to a discrimination matter within the Tasmanian Civil and Administration Tribunal, involving allegations of gender discrimination, sexual harassment and victimisation.

Professional Indemnity

  • Advising various private hospital providers in relation to complex medical practitioner accreditation. This included external reviews and show cause processes in compliance with hospital By-Laws, drafting confidentiality agreements and Terms of References, resisting interlocutory applications and giving practical advice on liability risk.
  • Advising a barrister in relation to a multi-party litigated claim for loss of opportunity relating to alleged negligent advice within a workers compensation claim.

Personal Injury

  • Acting for a crane hire specialist in a litigated claim involving a significant crush injury which occurred on a construction site.
  • Acting for a local childcare provider in a litigated claim for damages involving a significant facial and eye injury to a child from another child and a metal pole.
