Dominique is an experienced public liability litigator who focuses on personal injury claims, complex third party and psychiatric claims, and complex indemnity disputes.

She has a strong record in obtaining successful outcomes for clients and is known for her easy-to-work-with style and ability to readily address statutory issues, such as determinations regarding secondary injury claims.

Dominique has previously advised on a wide range of public liability matters, including third party property claims and product liability matters. She has also worked as an in-house solicitor for the Government of Vanuatu.

  • Acting in a claim for compensation made on the basis that the claimant had incurred a psychiatric injury as a result of thinking he had been robbed at gunpoint – following investigations that disproved aspects of the claim, the matter settled before compulsory conference.
  • Acting in a claim by a worker who slipped, causing his leg to become gangrenous and eventually need to be amputated – the matter involved extensive medico-legal evidence.
  • Defending a range of allied health professionals who are the subject of AHPRA inquiries.
  • Defending laser clinics that had been accused of badly burning and scarring their clients during laser hair removal treatments.
  • Acting in numerous public liability claims and assisting with third party recovery actions.
  • Acting for insureds after they damaged government property with their private boat.
  • Acting for homeowners in recovering funds from an international supplier after a golf buggy exploded in their garage and burned their house down.
