Alice has a broad practice having acted on a range of disputes including healthcare, cyber and data security, professional indemnity, and regulatory and statutory compliance.
Alice has assisted in defending insurers and their clients in professional negligence claims brought against solicitors, healthcare practitioners and small to medium enterprises. She has experience advising on liability and coverage, undertaking discovery work and research, preparing for dispute resolution and litigation, drafting procedural documentation, and reviewing policies and procedures.
- Acting in a range of matters dealing with ransomware attacks, notification obligations and privacy liability (including communicating with the Office of the Privacy Commission, third parties and clients).
- Advising a range of Insured’s facing regulatory investigations or charges, including under the Resource Management Act and Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Acting for the Medical Protection Society and their member in responses to the Health and Disability Commissioner, the Medical Council of New Zealand, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, the Human Rights Commission and Human Rights Review Tribunal, coronial inquests, Professional Conduct Committees, tribunal hearings and appeals to the District Court.
