Pippa is a specialist in cyber incident response, and is an expert in advising on privacy risk and cyber and financial lines coverage issues.
Pippa advises insurers and their insured clients on their response to major cyber incidents across South East Asia, including ransomware attacks, business email compromise incidents and data breaches. Her experience includes advising private companies as well as those listed on the Singapore, London and New York exchanges. Her expertise extends to acting as cyber breach coach, delivering incident response services and advising on privacy risk.
Pippa also has a wealth of expertise in advising local and international insurers and reinsurers on complex financial lines risk, including under Directors & Officers, Professional Liability, Bankers Blanket Bond, Financial Institutions and Crime Policies.
For matters that cannot be resolved, Pippa’s disputes experience includes multiple mediations and arbitrations in London and Singapore.
Cyber and Privacy Risk
- Leading the incident response for a printing company in Singapore (ransomware attack). The incident involved financial institutions’ customer data from across SE Asia, requiring advice on engagement with various government organisations including the Cybersecurity Agency and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
- Leading incident response for a large telecommunications company (ransomware attack) in advance of a major transaction. Due to the size and type of data affected, the incident led to extensive investigation by the regulator.
- Leading the incident response for a global network of schools (ransomware attack). The exfiltrated data included a significant amount of data belonging to minors, as well as financial data and notification to regulators in a number of jurisdictions was required.
- Leading incident response for a global gaming company (ransomware attack). Notifications were required to a number of jurisdictions across APAC and the EU.

- Advising private and listed companies in Singapore and across APAC on privacy risk.
- Acting for reinsurers in relation to the coverage under a financial institution’s D&O Policy following the “Bangladesh Bank Robbery” which involved a cyber heist of close to USD1 billion in New York City.
- Acting for local and international reinsurers in relation to coverage available under a Bankers Blanket Bond Policy following multi-million dollar fraudulent transactions in Brunei.
- Advising insurers across APAC on the extent of cover available under D&O Policies following derivative shareholder actions commenced in Singapore and Malaysia
